The event was held at Nishagandhi under the auspices of the Department of Industrial Training.
Promoting Industry-Aligned Skill Development
Minister Sivankutty emphasized that in the rapidly advancing industrial landscape, academic knowledge must be complemented with technology-based vocational training. To address this need, Kerala will introduce new-generation courses aligned with Industry 4.0, replacing outdated trades in the vocational training sector. These updates aim to ensure that trainees gain skills relevant to the contemporary and future job markets.
Key Skill Areas to be Prioritized
- Robotics
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Electric Vehicle Maintenance
The minister highlighted that training programs will be developed in collaboration with leading industrial institutions, ensuring access to the most advanced and industry-relevant learning environments.
Empowering Teachers and Inspiring Students
According to the minister, skilled youth form the foundation of national progress. Teachers who impart these skills play a vital role not only in educating students but also in shaping their future paths. He noted that the recognition given to teachers is a meaningful acknowledgment of their exemplary service and serves as an inspiration for others.
The success of students, he said, is a direct outcome of their hard work and dedication. He reminded them that their journey does not end with winning awards; thriving in the competitive world requires continuous learning and self-renewal.

The event celebrated significant accomplishments in the skill training sector. Jayesh Kannachentodi, recipient of the National Teacher Award 2025 in the Skill Training Category, was honored.
