
New Delhi, India: The Ministry of Ayush joined the nationwide commemoration of the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song Vande Mataram with a mass singing ceremony at the Central Courtyard of Ayush Bhawan. The event formed part of the larger initiative led by the Ministry of Culture to celebrate this significant cultural milestone across the country.
Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav joins national celebration
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, attended the event as Chief Guest. He joined officials and staff members of the Ministry in the collective recitation of Vande Mataram, honouring one of the nation’s most enduring symbols of patriotism.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Jadhav remarked that celebrating 150 years of Vande Mataram is an act of paying homage to a song that became a powerful symbol of India’s awakening during the freedom struggle. “Every word of this timeless composition reflects the deep love and devotion of our citizens towards the Motherland,” he said. He also highlighted that India’s progress must align with the preservation of its heritage, reiterating the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that “development and heritage must move forward together.”
National unity and cultural significance of Vande Mataram
The mass rendition created an atmosphere of unity and reverence, underlining the song’s lasting emotional and cultural influence in India’s journey as a nation. Following the collective singing, participants gathered at the Kautilya Conference Hall to view a special presentation prepared by the Ministry of Culture that traced the historical journey and legacy of Vande Mataram. The event concluded with the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address launching the nationwide observance.
In conjunction with the anniversary, the Ministry of Culture has also launched a dedicated campaign website, vandemataram150.in, to provide information and resources related to the celebrations.
