A Mega Farmers Meet was held at Neihdawn Community Hall under the joint initiative of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Khawzawl and Dhanuka Agritech Limited. The event was chaired by Dr Malsawmkimi, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Khawzawl.

Representatives from Dhanuka Agritech, including Mr. Mrinmoy Baruah, Deputy General Manager (Sales), South Kolkata, and Mr. Dipak Debnath, Senior Sales Officer from Guwahati, participated in the programme. The company delivered presentations on modern agricultural inputs and pest management techniques.

Dr Lalngaihawmi, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) at KVK, conducted a session on the “Safe Use of Pesticides,” emphasizing the importance of handling and applying agrochemicals responsibly. She highlighted the need for farmers to adopt safe practices to protect both their health and the environment. The meet was attended by about 80 farmers from Neihdawn and nearby villages.

Valedictory Event Held for SEIL National Integration Tour in Lunglei

Lunglei, November 11, 2025 – The closing ceremony of the Students’ Experience in Inter-State Living (SEIL) National Integration Tour to Mizoram was held at the HATIM Conference Hall, Kawmzawl, Pukpui, Lunglei. The event was presided over by Lunglei District Information and Public Relations Officer Pu C. Lalhruaitluanga, while Dr R. Lalnunthara, Principal of HATIM College, attended as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Pu C. Lalhruaitluanga highlighted the positive outcomes of the SEIL Tour, where participating students from different states interacted and learned from one another’s traditions and lifestyles. He emphasized that the experience deepened their understanding of India’s cultural diversity and strengthened the spirit of national unity. He further remarked that visiting students gained valuable insight into Mizo hospitality and the spirit of tlawmngaihna—the Mizo ethos of selfless service.

Dr R. Lalnunthara expressed gratitude that HATIM College could host the valedictory programme, stating that such initiatives promote a deeper sense of unity and mutual respect among India’s youth. He encouraged students to carry forward the message of integration and cultural understanding.

The programme included special addresses by United Pentecostal Church (NEI) Lunglei District Secretary Rev. PC Lalfakawma and DIET Lecturer & SEIL Delegate 2004 Pu HP Lalremtluanga, who shared experiences from earlier SEIL editions. Performances by HATIM students and SEIL delegates added cultural vibrancy to the event. SEIL Mizoram Coordinator Pu C. Lalramluahpuia delivered the vote of thanks.

The SEIL National Integration Tour, organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), brought nine students from various Indian states to southern Mizoram. Between November 7 and 11, 2025, they visited Lawngtlai, Siaha, and Lunglei districts, where they interacted with district officials, student groups, and community members while exploring local culture, heritage, and social practices.

African Swine Fever Alert Issued in Kolasib District

Kolasib, November 10, 2025 – The District Magistrate of Kolasib, Robert C. Lalhmangaiha, has issued an official order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, to curb the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the district. The notification imposes strict restrictions on the movement and sale of pigs and pork products to prevent the spread of infection.

Key Provisions of the District Order

Provision Description
Import Ban Movement of pigs, pork, frozen pork, processed pork products, and by-products from other states or districts into Kolasib District is completely prohibited.
Movement Restriction No pork or pig products from ASF-affected areas are allowed to enter or transit within Kolasib District.
Disposal Regulation Carcasses of infected pigs must be buried with proper disinfection; open disposal is strictly forbidden.
Reporting Requirement Farmers must immediately report pig deaths to the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary officials.
Slaughter Control No pigs may be slaughtered or transported without permission from the Veterinary Department.
Penalty Violations of these orders will attract punishment under Section 223 of BNSS, 2023.
Validity The order will remain in force for 60 days from the date of issue, i.e., from November 10, 2025.

The directive aims to safeguard livestock farmers and prevent the ASF outbreak from spreading further within Mizoram. The order has been issued under the official seal of the Kolasib District Court.
