The District Council auditorium resounded with chants of Vande Mataram – public representatives and officials sang the song collectively and pledged to embrace Swadeshi.

The General Assembly meeting of Jaipur Zila Parishad was held under the chairpersonship of District Chief Smt. Rama Devi Choupara at the District Council Hall. The meeting discussed key issues including power supply, water, roads, ration distribution, the functioning of five departments transferred to Panchayati Raj institutions, approval of the supplementary plan for the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme for 2025-26, and sanctioning of land lease files.

Marking the 150th anniversary celebrations of ‘Vande Mataram’ from 7 to 26 November, the hall resonated with the collective singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ by public representatives and officials. On this occasion, Smt. Choupara administered a pledge to adopt Swadeshi, emphasizing that the spirit of Swadeshi symbolizes national pride and self-reliance.

Awareness on Voter List Revision

During the meeting, representatives were briefed about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists through a presentation by Deputy District Election Officer Shri Meghraj Meena. To address issues faced by representatives regarding the enumeration process, a help desk was set up within the District Council premises for prompt resolution of related queries.

The meeting was attended by Member of Parliament Shri Amarram (Sikar), MLA Smt. Shikha Meel Barala (Chomu), Deputy District Chief Shri Mohan Dagar, Chief Executive Officer Smt. Pratibha Verma, and several public representatives and officials.

Special Intensive Revision Programme 2026 Reaches 78 Percent of Voters Across Rajasthan

The Special Intensive Revision Programme (SIR-2026) of the voter list in Rajasthan has achieved significant progress, with enumeration forms reaching approximately 4.25 crore voters—covering 78 percent of the state’s electorate. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan informed that Jhalawar and Chittorgarh districts are leading with over 90 percent distribution, while Jhunjhunu is at the bottom with 66.2 percent.

Only five districts—Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, and Didwana-Kuchaman—remain below 70 percent coverage. Among assembly constituencies, Jhalrapatan (99.4 percent) and Dag (97.3 percent) top the list, whereas Bharatpur (49.2 percent) and Sadulshahar (52.5 percent) are lagging.

Digitization Drive and Monitoring

Digitization of completed enumeration forms is progressing rapidly, with 11.30 lakh forms uploaded to ECI Net. Barmer, Bharatpur, and Jhalawar lead in this digital effort, while Bikaner, Churu, and Tonk are comparatively slower. At the assembly level, Barmer ranks highest in digitization, and Dataramgarh remains the slowest.

District Election Officers have been instructed to accelerate the digitization process and ensure technical support for Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The Election Commission of India is directly monitoring the campaign, and strict instructions have been issued to Electoral Registration Officers in lagging districts.

Citizen Participation and Online Access

Citizens can fill the enumeration form online at https://voters.eci.gov.in. Online submissions are automatically forwarded to the respective BLOs, eliminating the need for manual form filling.

The ongoing house-to-house verification from 4 November to 4 December involves BLOs verifying each voter’s name, address, and other details to ensure accuracy and transparency. Shri Mahajan urged all citizens to cooperate with BLOs, emphasizing that the SIR-2026 campaign is a crucial step toward strengthening democracy by ensuring the inclusion of all eligible voters and removing ineligible entries.

Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Campaign Targets 2.3 Lakh Power Connections

Under the centrally sponsored Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Campaign, the Government of Rajasthan aims to provide electricity connections to more than 2.30 lakh households in tribal-dominated areas. Rajasthan Discoms Chairperson Ms. Arti Dogra chaired a review meeting with engineers from Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer power distribution corporations. Jodhpur Discom Managing Director Dr. Bhawarlal and Ajmer Discom Managing Director Shri K.P. Verma also participated.

Ms. Dogra directed Superintending Engineers to conduct circle-wise surveys of households lacking connections to ensure full coverage under the campaign. She instructed that approvals be issued promptly and progress be reviewed regularly at the Superintending Engineer level, ensuring that no eligible family is left without an electricity connection.

The targets set under the campaign include 43,583 connections in Jaipur Discom covering 1,305 villages and 1,405 hamlets; 1,62,805 connections in Jodhpur Discom across 4,834 villages and 18,468 hamlets; and 24,392 connections in Ajmer Discom covering 973 villages and 986 hamlets. Jaipur Discom has already issued work orders worth Rs. 73.97 crore for the required works.
