CCRAS to Launch SIDDHI 2.0 to Strengthen Research-Driven Ayurveda Pharma Innovation
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences under the Ministry of Ayush is preparing to introduce the second edition of its industry–research interface initiative, SIDDHI 2.0, in Vijayawada on November 25-26, 2025. The event is being organised by the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Vijayawada, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry, Vijayawada Zone. The programme is positioned as a significant national platform focused on advancing scientific, industrial, and commercial development within the Ayurveda sector.
Before the launch, Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Ayush (IC) and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, stated that SIDDHI 2.0 reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the Traditional Medicine sector and reinforce Ayush on scientific foundations. He said that CCRAS has created a national platform for innovation and that collaboration with industry is essential for converting research findings into high-quality Ayurvedic products suitable for global markets.
Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, noted that the future of Ayurveda depends on transforming validated research into accessible and dependable solutions. He stated that SIDDHI 2.0 brings together the scientific capabilities of CCRAS and the manufacturing strength of India’s Ayush industry, enabling quicker product development and smoother regulatory procedures.
Building on the progress of CCRAS’ PRAGATI-2024 initiative, SIDDHI 2.0 represents a shift toward research-led product development, indigenous technologies, and accelerated translational processes, which are priorities in India’s current Ayush innovation approach.
Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, CCRAS, outlined the key components of the programme. He said that the two-day event has been designed as a focused engagement linking CCRAS’ scientific work with industrial application. He added that it will present CCRAS’ research outcomes, align them with industry needs, and enable actionable pathways for product development, validation, and scaling. According to him, bringing together researchers, manufacturers, regulators, and clinicians will support Ayurveda’s movement toward a more evidence-oriented and innovation-driven future.
The initiative is being guided by CCRAS’ scientific leadership, which has set out a national vision for evidence-based Ayurveda. CCRAS is prepared to present India’s evolving Ayurvedic research landscape and its role in drug development, standardisation, validation, regulatory progress, and commercialisation.
The SIDDHI 2.0 event will be attended by K. Dinesh Kumar, Director (Ayush), Government of Andhra Pradesh, and N. Srikanth, Deputy Director General, CCRAS. More than 25 Ayurvedic pharmaceutical companies from Southern India will participate, including Himalaya, Oushadhi, IMPCOPS, Laila Nutra Pvt. Ltd., and Imis Pharmaceuticals. Researchers, clinicians, academic specialists, representatives from State Ayush departments, and postgraduate scholars from NRS Ayurvedic College, Vijayawada, will also take part.
SIDDHI 2.0 aims to enhance industry adoption of CCRAS technologies, strengthen institutional networks, improve quality and regulatory systems, and support the development of Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals with global competitiveness. By bringing scientific innovation and industrial collaboration together, the programme seeks to advance evidence-based Ayurveda in line with India’s goals for holistic, modern, and scalable traditional medicine.
