13th India-Oman Joint Military Cooperation Committee Meeting Held in New Delhi

Senior Defence Officials Review Ongoing Collaboration
Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh and Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Oman Dr Mohammed Bin Naseer Bin Ali Al Zaabi co-chaired the 13th Joint Military Cooperation Committee meeting in New Delhi on November 24, 2025. They reviewed the existing defence cooperation between the two countries and discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral engagements across various sectors. The discussions also included an exchange of views on regional and international security issues, with particular reference to the Indian Ocean Region.
Focus on Defence Industrial Cooperation
Both sides reiterated their commitment to advancing defence industrial cooperation with an emphasis on joint development, technology sharing, and expanded production partnerships. They underscored the need to enhance supply chain robustness, improve interoperability, and encourage innovation in emerging defence technologies.
The meeting covered the development of long-term frameworks aimed at supporting the co-development of advanced platforms, promoting indigenous manufacturing, and reinforcing strategic resilience. The officials agreed that deeper defence industrial collaboration is important for regional stability, shared security priorities, and sustainable defence modernisation. The session reflected the ongoing strategic partnership between India and Oman and highlighted the importance of regular high-level dialogue.
Additional Bilateral Engagements
During his visit, Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Oman Dr Mohammed Bin Naseer Bin Ali Al Zaabi also met Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth to discuss bilateral defence cooperation. He further held a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan.

India and Oman maintain a strategic partnership based on political, defence, economic, and cultural ties. Key areas include economic collaboration and energy security through oil and gas trade, as well as shared priorities in regional stability, counter-terrorism, and maritime security.
