Government Notification Overview

The Ministry of Finance has introduced a special ₹150 denomination coin to mark the 150th anniversary of Arya Samaj. The issue has been notified under the authority granted by the Coinage Act, 2011. The coin will be produced at the Mint and made available upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Specifications and Composition

The commemorative coin has been designed with distinct dimensions and metal composition. It will be circular in shape with an outside diameter of 44 millimeters and will contain 200 serrations along its edge. The composition includes Nickel Silver alloy with Copper making up 60 percent, while Nickel and Zinc will contribute 20 percent each. The coin has a standard weight of 32 grams, with a permitted variation to ensure minting accuracy.

Obverse Side Design

The front face of the coin carries the Lion Capitol of the Ashoka Pillar at the center accompanied by the text “सत्यमेव जयते” below it. On the periphery, the word “भारत” is placed in Devanagari on the left and “INDIA” on the right. The design also includes the Rupee symbol along with the denomination “150” in international numerals.

Reverse Side Design

The reverse side showcases the Arya Samaj 150 Year Celebration emblem. The upper periphery contains the phrase “आर्य समाज का 150वां वर्ष समारोह” in Devanagari, while the lower periphery carries the English version “ARYA SAMAJ 150 YEAR CELEBRATION”. The year 1875 is inscribed to the left of the logo and 2025 to the right. The Gayatri Mantra appears in two parts: the first half below the Hindi text and the second half above the English text.
