The Department of Public Enterprises under the Ministry of Finance has wrapped up its participation in the nationwide cleanliness and efficiency drive with full success. Every set goal under the two-month initiative stood met by the end of October 2025.

Two-Phase Drive Yields Complete Results

The drive ran in two clear stages. Teams spent the second half of September preparing plans and marking areas for action. From the first day of October until the month closed, staff put every plan into practice across the department’s offices in the CGO Complex.

Staff focused on four main areas: clearing backlogs, keeping workplaces tidy, making the best use of available room, and lifting the overall atmosphere for everyone who works there or visits.

Backlogs Wiped Out Completely

Every single pending file or reference that had been flagged earlier now stands resolved. The department recorded nil outstanding items, showing how seriously the team treated deadlines during the drive.

Records Streamlined and Space Gained

A thorough check of old documents led to the removal of 550 files that no longer served any purpose. This exercise not only improved record-keeping but also opened up 180 square feet of usable office area.

One unused patch inside Block 14, earlier marked as the CTU site, received a fresh look with plants and neat surroundings, adding to the pleasant environment.

E-Waste Turned into Revenue

A dedicated group examined electronic equipment and listed 45 pieces, such as all-in-one computers, printers, and desktops, that could not be repaired. These items went under the hammer through MSTC’s online platform. The sale fetched Rs 94,501, well above the modest estimate of Rs 31,700.

Leadership Keeps Close Watch

On 24 October 2025, the DPE Secretary walked through the ground, third, and fourth floors to see the changes firsthand. The same day, the officer in charge of records visited the storage room to confirm everything was in order.

Across the floors, new waiting zones now greet visitors with proper chairs and flower displays, making the offices feel more inviting and business-like.

Social Updates Keep Public Informed

Four posts went live on X.com during the drive, one of them capturing the Secretary’s visit on 24 October. These updates gave followers a quick view of the progress being made inside the department.

With every target met and visible improvements in place, the Department of Public Enterprises has set a strong example of how focused efforts can transform government workspaces.
