Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Undertakes Official Visit to Algeria

ALGIERS – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Algiers on Monday for an official visit to Algeria.

Official Reception in Algiers

The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria, Brahim Boughali, welcomed President Mohamud at Houari Boumediene International Airport. The reception was attended by several cabinet ministers and senior state officials, highlighting the importance Algeria places on the visit.

Aims of the Visit

The official visit is intended to strengthen fraternal relations and cooperation between Algeria and Somalia. Both nations aim to elevate bilateral ties to higher levels, reflecting their deep historical connections and the bond between their peoples.

Focus on Partnership and Consultation

The visit also underscores the leaders’ commitment to expand partnership and consultation on issues of mutual interest, fostering closer collaboration in political, economic, and cultural spheres.
