SHARJAH Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Director of the Islamic Arts Festival, inaugurated seven artworks as part of the installations featured in the 26th edition of the festival.

The inauguration was held at the House of Wisdom and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), attended by Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, several international artists, media representatives, and participants of the art event.

House of Wisdom Exhibits

The courtyards of the House of Wisdom displayed four artworks. “The Cloak Pavilion” was created by Aden Chan of Studio LYYH from Hong Kong. “Illuminated Passages: The Five Pillars” was presented by Romina Khanum from the United Kingdom. Emirati artist Salma Al Mansouri showcased “Lighthouse,” while Saudi artist Fatima Abdulhadi exhibited “Keep Your Eyes on the Light.”

SPARK Exhibits

SPARK hosted three artworks. Emirati artist Rawda Al Marzouqi presented “Ashes and Order,” Kuwaiti artist Mahmoud Shaker exhibited “Circle of Light,” and Iranian artist Neda Salmanpour displayed “Repetition.”

Art Tour and Visitor Experience

Al Qaseer and attendees toured the seven installations, exploring the artists’ concepts and observing the creative processes behind each work. The tour provided an opportunity to examine the intricate details of the pieces and hear the narratives conveyed by the artworks.

The visits included multiple stops at the installations, which highlighted a range of ideas and artistic visions. Visitors listened to the artists explain their creative journeys, from initial concept to final execution, in alignment with the festival’s theme, “Siraj” (Lantern).
