
Cairo, November 10, 2025: The Council of Arab Ministers of Transport convened its 38th session in Cairo on Monday, chaired by Kuwait and attended by senior transport officials from various Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al-Jasser.
Saudi Arabia Highlights Transport Transformation
During the session, Minister Saleh Al-Jasser underscored the remarkable progress achieved in Saudi Arabia’s transport and logistics sector. He stated that the sector is witnessing an unprecedented transformation driven by the strong support of the national leadership and guided by the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
Al-Jasser explained that this comprehensive strategy seeks to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents. It also aims to promote sustainable development through extensive infrastructure expansion, enhancement of operational efficiency, the adoption of modern technologies, and integration across all modes of transport.
Milestones in the Saudi Transport Sector
The Minister highlighted several major achievements within the Kingdom’s transport domain. These include the expansion of road and railway networks, modernization of ports and airports, and the implementation of smart and sustainable transport systems. Additionally, logistics efficiency has improved through specialized initiatives aimed at increasing the sector’s overall competitiveness.
According to Al-Jasser, these accomplishments align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the national economy and enhance the Kingdom’s global standing in trade, transport, and logistics.
Regional Cooperation and Shared Development Goals
The 38th session of the Council emphasized the importance of regional cooperation among Arab states to advance transport infrastructure, harmonize regulations, and improve interconnectivity between countries. The ministers discussed strategies for enhancing logistics integration and facilitating trade across the region.
The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of member states to implement joint projects that support the growth of the Arab transport sector and strengthen its role in global commerce and economic development.
