Saudi Arabia’s Leading Role in Humanitarian Support

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds a leading position in providing support and assistance at both regional and international levels, guided by a clear vision aimed at promoting peace and sustainable development. The Kingdom’s efforts reflect its humanitarian commitment through its specialized national institutions, foremost among them the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), which implements humanitarian and relief initiatives to support communities in need. KSrelief also seeks to enhance the impact of these efforts through effective partnerships with the United Nations and international organizations, contributing to stability and improving the quality of life on a broader scale.

KSrelief’s Decade of Global Impact

Since its establishment 10 years ago, KSrelief has implemented 3,786 humanitarian and relief projects in 109 countries across the world, with a total value of $8,211,936,000.

Strategic UN Partnerships and Key Projects

KSrelief has forged significant strategic partnerships with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), UN Women and other international organizations. These partnerships have contributed to the implementation of 411 projects worth $3.470 billion across various vital sectors.

Commemorating United Nations Day

The Kingdom joins the international community in marking United Nations Day, observed annually on October 24, reaffirming its support for the UN and its humanitarian agencies in assisting needy and affected populations and advancing the prospects of global humanitarian action.
