Riyadh The Human Resources Development Fund signed an agreement with Lenovo Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, to train and employ 100 Saudi men and women in technical and engineering positions within advanced industrial fields.

The agreement was formalized during the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Riyadh. With the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar AlKhorayef, the initiative supports the Kingdom’s national efforts to enhance industrial capabilities and develop human capital in priority sectors.

Under this partnership, Lenovo will introduce its first specialized industrial training program in Saudi Arabia. The program aims to prepare national talent with skills suited for advanced manufacturing and high-tech industrial operations.

The initiative includes training opportunities both within and outside the Kingdom, supported by the Human Resources Development Fund. It also aligns with Lenovo’s strategic partnership with Alat and complements the human capabilities initiative in advanced manufacturing announced at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh last month.

The program will prepare 100 Saudi nationals for specialized positions in the advanced manufacturing sector. Training will cover multiple disciplines, including various engineering fields, materials management and planning, and production and industrial engineering.

The curriculum will further support workforce development in quality management and strategic operations to ensure a strong pool of skilled professionals who can contribute to the Kingdom’s industrial goals. Selected participants will join Lenovo as full-time employees while taking part in the ISTDAM Advanced Talent Development Program, a four-month intensive training track designed to build essential competencies for high-tech industrial careers.

This collaboration reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to building a capable national workforce that supports the growth of its industrial and technological sectors. The signing during the UNIDO General Conference highlights the Kingdom’s position in global sustainability efforts and its investment in human capital development.

The agreement also provides a pathway for other global manufacturers, such as Lenovo, to engage in Saudi Arabia’s advanced industrial environment. It establishes a model for future partnerships and supports the Kingdom’s aim to become a center for global innovation, attracting technologies in artificial intelligence, automation, and sustainable manufacturing.
