Khadi India Pavilion Showcases Aatmanirbhar Bharat

The Khadi India Pavilion in Hall No. 6 presents the essence of Aatmanirbhar Bharat through 150 stalls. Khadi’s heritage is displayed at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, where KVIC, under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, is exhibiting an extensive selection of Khadi and village industry products that represent evolving trends in Khadi.

The Pavilion features contemporary Khadi products that have gained recognition as a global brand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chairman Manoj Kumar Interacts With Artisans

On Wednesday, KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar visited the Pavilion and interacted with Khadi artisans from different states, entrepreneurs from the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, and representatives of SFURTI clusters. He discussed their products, experiences, and innovations and appreciated their efforts in strengthening the rural economy.

He encouraged artisans and entrepreneurs to continue contributing to the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local initiatives.

Speaking to media persons, he said the Pavilion has been planned in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi and Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

A total of 150 stalls have been established, allowing participation from Khadi institutions, PMEGP units, and SFURTI clusters across the country. These stalls present a range of traditional handicrafts, Khadi items, and village industry products.

During the visit, Manoj Kumar also viewed live demonstrations of indigenous charkhas, the peti charkha, the electric pottery wheel, and ghani-based oil extraction, highlighting India’s heritage of craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

Baat Khadi Ki Podcast Studio Draws Attention

A notable feature of the Pavilion is the new podcast studio Baat Khadi Ki, where artisans narrate their journeys, innovations, and experiences with traditional crafts. Manoj Kumar appreciated the initiative, observing that it merges technology with tradition and may help engage youth with Khadi.

The Pavilion also includes a diverse selection of textiles, cosmetics, rural foods, bamboo and cane crafts, and region-specific products from Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and the North East. PMEGP and SFURTI entrepreneurs are presenting their work, reflecting the steady growth of Khadi and village industries.
