Special Campaign 5.0 MSME India Achieves 100% Targets

A group of people, appearing to be officials, are gathered in a modern conference room. Many of them are standing and holding papers, seemingly participating in an oath-taking ceremony or a similar official event. Two Indian flags are visible in the background, flanking a central figure seated at the head of a long table.

New Delhi, India –: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has achieved significant milestones under Special Campaign 5.0, successfully institutionalising cleanliness and reducing pendency across its departments and field formations. The campaign, conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2025, marked a focused effort toward improving administrative efficiency and environmental responsibility.

100% Target Achievement Across Seven Parameters

The Ministry and its organisations accomplished 100% of the targets set on seven specific parameters. These included the disposal of PMO references, Inter-Ministerial and State Government references, and public grievances, alongside the review of e-files and cleanliness campaigns. Over 95% of targets were also met for parameters such as appeals on public grievances, review of physical files, and disposal of redundant items.

In total, 23,162 physical files were reviewed, resulting in the weeding out of 4,280 files. Additionally, 953 e-office files were reviewed and 623 e-files successfully closed.

Nationwide Cleanliness and Swachhata Efforts

More than 7,500 Swachhata pledges were taken by entrepreneurs, officers, staff, and organisations as part of the campaign. The Union Minister of MSME, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, administered the pledge on October 8, 2025, in a hybrid format to employees across the Ministry and its affiliated bodies.

To broaden participation, the Ministry introduced an online Swachhata e-pledge feature on its official website. This initiative encouraged participation from the larger MSME ecosystem, including registered enterprises, industry associations, and citizens nationwide.

Extensive Cleanliness Drives and E-Waste Management

Under Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry conducted 1,045 cleanliness campaigns, covering a total area of 21,046 sq. ft. These efforts not only enhanced hygiene and orderliness across office premises but also generated a revenue of Rs 22.89 lakh from waste management activities.

Special emphasis was placed on e-waste disposal, aligning with the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022, issued by the Ministry of Environment. The campaign ensured responsible disposal and recycling of obsolete electronic equipment in all government offices under the MSME network.

Waste to Wealth Initiatives at MSME Campuses

Waste to Wealth projects were actively undertaken at several campus sites, notably at CCRI-Kalavoor, Alappuzha. These initiatives demonstrated the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable waste management and environmental stewardship within the MSME framework.

Collaborating Institutions Driving the Campaign

The Ministry’s success in Special Campaign 5.0 was driven by collective participation from its key organisations, including:

  • Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME)
  • National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC)
  • Coir Board
  • Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC)
  • National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme)
  • Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI)
