In Manipur’s Senapathi District, a journalist covering a flower festival in Laii Village was shot twice with an air gun, resulting in serious injuries. The unprovoked attack highlights the risks faced by media professionals in the region.

In Kerala, near Thoudupuzha’s Mangattukavala, a journalist was attacked by a group while returning from a wedding function. The assault underscores the vulnerability of journalists even in non-professional settings.

In response to these alarming incidents, the NHRC has demanded comprehensive reports from the police authorities in Kerala, Manipur, and Tripura to ensure accountability and justice. In all three cases, the victims required hospitalization, and the police have registered cases to investigate the attacks.
