Rail Ministry’s Nationwide Drive Exceeds Previous Records

The Ministry of Railways has successfully concluded its participation in the Special Campaign 5.0 conducted from 2nd to 31st October 2025. The campaign, initiated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, emphasised cleanliness, timely disposal of pending issues and efficient records management across government departments.

With over 84,000 cleanliness activities carried out at stations, office spaces and workplaces, the Ministry has not only enhanced cleanliness standards but also freed up a significant 6.06 lakh sq. ft. of space by clearing scrap. This effort alone brought in a revenue of Rs. 570 crore.

100% Disposal of Pending Issues Achieved

Under the close supervision of the Railway Board, the Ministry achieved full completion of targets in clearing public grievances, VIP references and other delayed matters. Nearly one lakh files were reviewed in the process, and a total of 66,730 files, both physical and electronic, were weeded out or closed.

Raising Public Awareness Through ‘Amrit Samvad’

To involve the public and spread the message of Swachhatta, events under the name ‘Amrit Samvad’ were held at major railway stations, including 105 Amrit Bharat stations. The campaign also saw massive engagement across social media platforms, with over 22,636 posts attracting active participation from citizens nationwide.

The outcomes of this campaign reflect the dedication of railway employees across all zones. Their coordinated efforts have reinforced the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to the goals of cleanliness, swift redressal of grievances and systematic records management.
