The Ministry of Science & Technology, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, highlighted the celebration of the 10th Ayurveda Day by CSIR–National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR–NIScPR). Held on October 17, 2025, the event emphasized Ayurveda as a comprehensive system for health and wellness, grounded in eco-friendly and natural practices. The festivities included a NIScPR SVASTIK lecture as part of the #SVASTIK national program, which shares scientifically verified traditional wisdom with the public, along with a complimentary health screening camp for CSIR-NIScPR employees and students.
Insights from the SVASTIK Lecture
Dr. Kishore Patel from the CCRAS-Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in New Delhi presented an engaging NIScPR SVASTIK lecture on Ayurveda’s core principles. He explored how lifestyle choices and stress contribute to illnesses, stressing the value of nutritious diets, conscious eating habits, and moral conduct via Āchāra Rasāyana and Sadvṛtta to foster overall wellness.
Key Remarks from CSIR-NIScPR Leaders
Dr. Naresh Kumar, Chief Scientist at CSIR-NIScPR, discussed Ayurveda’s impressive worldwide growth, pointing out how Ayurveda Day has evolved from a domestic event to an international health initiative in under ten years. He called on Ayurvedic experts and scientists to combat false information and adulteration by promoting uniform preparations, evidence-supported integration, ethical promotion, and education for the masses. He also praised the #SVASTIK effort for spreading traditional insights with a scientific perspective.
Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh Roshan, Controller of Administration at CSIR-NIScPR, delved into Ayurveda’s ancient origins and the legacies of sages like Āchārya Nāgārjuna. He highlighted the increasing global acceptance of Ayurveda as an all-encompassing healthcare framework.
Dr. Suman Ray, Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-NIScPR, lauded the theme for this year, “Ayurveda for People and Planet,” which embodies a collective dedication to using Ayurveda’s benefits for worldwide health and ecological balance.
Dr. Charu Lata, Principal Scientist, SVASTIK Coordinator, and Nodal Officer for the 10th Ayurveda Day at CSIR-NIScPR, delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the CSIR–NIScPR Director, speakers, and attendees for the event’s triumph.

Free Health Assessment Initiative
In addition, a no-cost health evaluation camp was arranged, offering OPD consultations to NIScPR staff and students. These activities seek to boost access to age-old healthcare wisdom, raise public health consciousness, and encourage scientific advancements in Ayurveda.
