Free Services and Longer Validity for Professionals

Starting now, getting or renewing your Central Rehabilitation Register certificate costs nothing. Adding new qualifications to your record is also free. Earlier, people had to pay each time they updated their details. This move removes that burden completely.

Your CRR now stays valid for seven years instead of five. If you collect at least 100 points through continuing education programs, the system renews your registration automatically. No paperwork, no waiting. A new online dashboard lets you fix small errors in your profile without any charge. Institutions running continuing education events do not pay processing fees anymore.

Top training centers, now called Centers of Excellence, can organize state, national, or even international workshops without asking permission each time. They have full freedom to plan and run these programs.

144 Institutions Earn Center of Excellence Status

For the first time, RCI picked 144 high-performing colleges and universities and gave them special status. These include national institutes, regional centers, central and state universities, plus other strong players that meet strict quality rules.

Being a Center of Excellence means your approval lasts seven years. Existing approvals extend without extra checks. Only faculty from these centers will set exam papers, check answers, or moderate results. This keeps standards high and consistent across the country.

These centers also join expert panels that shape future policies and conduct surprise checks. The idea is simple: reward quality and let the best institutions lead the way.

Simpler Rules and Smarter Inspections

RCI cut approval fees sharply and replaced multiple certificates with one common No Objection Certificate. Training centers no longer jump through different hoops for the same permission.

If an inspection finds small issues, the council sends an Improvement Notice. The institution gets time to fix things before anyone returns. This saves effort and avoids harsh penalties for minor slips.

Inspections can now happen through video calls. Teams see classrooms, labs, and records in real time without traveling. Random checks, both online and in person, keep everyone honest.

Student-Friendly Exam System

Exam rules just became kinder. If you fail by a few marks, you receive grace points so you still pass. Supplementary exams take place within 75 days of results, letting you clear the backlog in the same academic year instead of losing twelve months.

Only teachers from Centers of Excellence prepare question papers and evaluate answer sheets. This raises the bar and removes doubts about fairness.

Boost for Indian Authors and Local Tools

RCI wants course material to reflect Indian realities. Syllabi will give space to books written by Indian authors and resources in regional languages. A new webpage on the council site invites writers and publishers to send their work for review.

Diagnostic tools designed for Indian cultures and languages will get priority. This makes learning and practice more relevant for students and patients across the country.
