The third session of the Atal Smaran Vyakhyanmala took place at the SPIPA campus of the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration in Gandhinagar. The theme of the session was ‘Developed Gujarat for Developed India – Necessity of Governance,’ with discussions centered around the concept of Developed India 2047 under the Administrative Reforms and Training Division of the General Administration Department.
Rajiv Gauba, member of NITI Aayog, addressed the gathering and stated that Gujarat continues to lead the country in governance and reform efforts, just as it has done across several development sectors. He highlighted that the Centre has encouraged states to create institutions that promote structured long-term planning. In this regard, Gujarat was the first to establish the Gujarat State Transformation Institution, widely known as GRIIT, which focuses on forward-looking policy strategies. He also noted that Gujarat was the only state placed in the Fast Moving category in the most recent Ease of Doing Business reform implementation plan.
State-Level Discussions and Administrative Efforts
A review meeting took place under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar to assess support measures for farmers affected by unseasonal rainfall. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and senior officials joined the discussion to evaluate the situation and coordinate relief planning.
In Aravalli district, teams led by the Agriculture Department have been deployed to assess crop damage. According to Agriculture Officer P. B. Parmar, the department has arranged teams comprising 82 Gram Sevaks to conduct field-level surveys.
Public Events and Cultural Activities
The International Book Fair 2025 is scheduled to begin in Ahmedabad on the 13th of this month and will continue until the 23rd at the Riverfront Event Centre in Paldi. The event will include national-level speakers and feature various thematic activities such as Author’s Stage, Pragya Shibir, Gyan Ganga, Rangmanch, and Abhilp.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited Morbi to participate in the 118th birth anniversary celebrations of Dada Bhagwan. He performed aarti and paid respects, receiving the sixth volume of the book ‘Gyani Purush’ from Deepakbhai.
Election Preparation and Agriculture Situation
The Election Department in Daman has completed arrangements for the Municipality and Panchayat elections to be held tomorrow. A total of 120 polling stations have been set up, including 109 in Panchayat regions. Police conducted flag marches to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
In Mehsana district, over 68 thousand hectares of farmland has been affected by recent unseasonal rain. Survey work is progressing, with more than 14 thousand hectares assessed so far. More than four thousand farmers have sustained 33 percent or higher damage across over three thousand hectares of land.
Meanwhile, with rainfall stopping, paddy farmers have resumed market activities in Kadi Marketing Yard in Mehsana. Approximately six thousand sacks arriving in more than 225 vehicles have been recorded, and traders are offering between Rs. 300 and Rs. 440 per man. Auction activities have returned to normal after a four-day pause due to weather conditions.
