Commitment to People-Centric Governance

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted a mega Public Darbar at Sanyadi DK Marg in Kulgam, emphasizing the Omar Abdullah-led Government’s dedication to equitable growth and people-centric policies. Addressing a large gathering, the Minister highlighted the Government’s mission to ensure development reaches every doorstep, leaving no citizen behind in the progress of Jammu and Kashmir.

Focus on Inclusive Development

Sakeena Itoo reiterated that the Government, formed through the trust and votes of the people, is committed to inclusive development, with a special focus on remote and tribal areas. She urged local residents and officials to collaborate for the region’s prosperity, emphasizing transparency and accountability in project execution.

Public Grievances and On-Spot Redressal

The Public Darbar saw significant participation from residents of Balsiran, Dodkuchan, Kandimarg, and Sanyadi, along with representatives from Panchayati Raj Institutions and youth groups. They raised concerns related to roads, health facilities, education, power supply, and other public services. The Minister attentively listened to these grievances, issuing immediate directives to concerned officers for prompt resolution.

Infrastructure Development Initiatives

During the event, Sakeena Itoo reviewed the progress of the Sanyadi–Dodkuchan Bridge, a Rs. 6.23 crore project by the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department. She instructed officials to ensure timely completion without compromising quality.

Road Projects for Enhanced Connectivity

The Minister laid foundation stones for multiple road projects in the DH Pora Constituency, including:

  • Kounsermarg Nandimarg Road to Galman: Rs. 415.49 lakhs
  • Seerpora to Hajampora Road: Rs. 405.68 lakhs
  • Bangward Dadran Road to Dadran Gujjarbasti: Rs. 283.08 lakhs

These projects aim to improve connectivity in rural and far-flung areas, boosting local trade, facilitating access to education and healthcare, and promoting tourism and economic activity.

Sports Infrastructure for Youth Empowerment

In Manzgam, Sakeena Itoo laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of a playfield, costing Rs. 80.25 lakhs. The project includes a change room, seating tiers, fencing, and other amenities to support local youth and sportspersons. The Minister emphasized the Government’s vision to nurture talent and promote sports for empowerment, discipline, and social harmony.

Sakeena Itoo’s initiatives reflect the Omar Abdullah-led Government’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and equitable development. By addressing public grievances and launching critical infrastructure projects, the Government aims to create a prosperous and inclusive future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
