Urgent Ban on Pork and Pig Imports in Peren District Due to African Swine Fever

In response to the confirmed outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Peren District, Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru has issued an immediate ban on the import of pork and pigs. This decisive action aims to curb the spread of the highly contagious disease affecting pigs.

Official Order Details

In a follow-up to the Office Order dated July 29, 2025, Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru announced the confirmation of African Swine Fever cases in and around Peren District. To protect public health and the local livestock industry, the import of pork and live pigs into the district has been strictly prohibited with immediate effect.
