A Month-Long Journey for a Nourished India
The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (17th September–16th October 2025), a nationwide initiative under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, culminated in a grand concluding ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, 17th October 2025, at the Himalayan Cultural Centre in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Launched on 17th September 2025 in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, this month-long Jan Andolan has been dedicated to enhancing nutrition awareness, fostering community participation, and promoting behavioral change to build a healthier India.
Event Highlights
The concluding ceremony will mark the success of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, bringing together key stakeholders to celebrate collective efforts toward a Suposhit Bharat—a nourished and empowered nation. The event will be graced by:
- Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, as the Chief Guest.
- Smt. Rekha Arya, Cabinet Minister, Women Empowerment and Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand.
- Shri Ganesh Joshi, Cabinet Minister, Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand.
Senior officers from the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), Government of India, and the Government of Uttarakhand, along with Anganwadi workers and helpers from across the state, will also participate, showcasing the strength of grassroots efforts.
Theme and Focus Areas
This year’s Poshan Maah, themed “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” (Healthy Women, Empowered Families), emphasized the pivotal role of women’s health in building strong families and a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. The campaign focused on key thematic areas, including:
- Addressing obesity and promoting reduced sugar and oil consumption.
- Strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
- Enhancing Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
- Encouraging men’s participation in nutrition initiatives.
- Promoting “Vocal for Local” for grassroots empowerment and self-reliance.
- Driving convergent actions and digitization for efficient outreach.
A Unified Effort for a Suposhit Bharat
Under the leadership of Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi, Poshan Maah 2025 united various Ministries, Departments, and community-based organizations in a “Whole-of-Government, Whole-of-Society” approach. From household-level nutrition demonstrations to large-scale awareness campaigns, the initiative reflected a shared national commitment to creating a nourished, healthy, and empowered India.
Celebrating Achievements and Champions
The Dehradun ceremony will highlight community mobilization and field initiatives, while honoring Poshan and Mission Shakti Champions who have driven impactful change at the grassroots level. This event celebrates collective action and reinforces the vision of a Suposhit Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
