The Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has been recognized for its exceptional efforts in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PMJANMAN), a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting tribal communities across India.
Award for Outstanding Contribution
On October 19, 2025, Shri Anil Malik, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, accepted a prestigious award on behalf of the Ministry. The accolade was presented by the Hon’ble President of India during the National Conclave on ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to celebrate impactful contributions to tribal welfare.

Empowering Tribal Communities Through PMJANMAN
The PMJANMAN initiative focuses on delivering essential services and infrastructure to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). Under this scheme, the WCD Ministry has successfully operationalized over 2,000 Anganwadi Centres in PVTG areas. These centers play a critical role in providing nutrition, healthcare, and early education, empowering communities at the grassroots level.
A Milestone in Tribal Development
The recognition underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and addressing the unique challenges faced by tribal populations. The operational Anganwadi Centres are a testament to the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring that even the most marginalized communities receive the benefits of government schemes.
This achievement aligns with the broader vision of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating India’s journey toward self-reliance and equitable development.
