Elevate Program Success and Startup Encouragement
The state government has successfully implemented the ‘Elevate’ program to encourage startups with new innovations, said IT, BT Minister Priyank Kharge. Sharing information on his social media platform ‘X’, he noted that the ‘Elevate’ program, which offers incentive grants of up to Rs 50 lakh, has opened the door to opportunities for countless enthusiastic entrepreneurs. The Minister emphasized that talent, new thinking, and innovations are abundant in Karnataka, urging for continuous encouragement of innovation, invention, and new ideas.
Karnataka Public Schools Upgrade in Vijayapura
Industries Minister M.B. Patil announced that more than 20 schools in Vijayapura district are being upgraded as Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) under the state government’s grant and Asian Development Bank loan scheme for the 2025-27 financial year. Infrastructure will be provided at a cost of approximately Rs 4 crore for each school, along with free transportation to attract children. The state government remains committed to implementing the idea that ‘Education is Power.’
DCM Reviews Irrigation Project in Raichur
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar today reviewed the progress of the lift irrigation project aimed at filling the Gunjalli Basappa tank and surrounding tanks in the Raichur Rural constituency with water from the Tungabhadra river. Minor Irrigation Minister N.S. Bosaraju, MLA Basanagowda Daddal, and others were present during the review.
Deepavali Celebrations and Balipadyami
Balipadyami, the third day of the Deepavali festival, is being celebrated with joy and enthusiasm across the state. The day commemorates King Bali after Lord Vishnu, in his Vamana avatar, pushed him to the netherworld. Special decoration and puja programs were organized in temples. In the Malenadu region, the festival was celebrated with Bhumi and Gopuja (worship of the earth and cows). A special puja fair was held at the Mallenahalli Deviramma Temple in Chikkamagaluru district, where devotees had darshan despite the rain.
Special Trains for Festival Commuters
Indian Railways has arranged additional special trains during the Deepavali festival. Additional trains are running between SMVT Bengaluru and Darbhanga in Bihar. This arrangement is to facilitate public convenience during the festive season.
Rural IT Quiz in Davanagere
The first round of the Rural IT Quiz program will be held tomorrow in government, aided, and un-aided Pre-University Colleges in Davanagere district. Rural students pursuing first and second PUC can participate. Selected students will proceed to the second round on the 29th at the Government Boys Pre-University College in Davanagere.
MNREGA Registration Sees Sharp Rise in Belagavi
Belagavi district has seen a significant increase in MNREGA registration, with 5,07,919 senior citizens (above 60 years) registered under the scheme—an increase of 61.36% compared to last year. Employment has been provided to over 30,000 people in the last six months. Hukkeri taluk recorded the highest number of registered senior citizen workers.
NIMHANS Launches ‘Mano Sandesha’ Series
NIMHANS has released a video series ‘Mano Sandesha’ on YouTube to raise public awareness about mental health. The series covers topics relevant to all age groups, including adult mental health and the challenge of suicide. It is currently available in English and will soon be released in Kannada and Hindi.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea due to wind speeds of 35-45 km/h along the coast. Bangalore is expected to be generally cloudy, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 26 and 21 degrees Celsius.
