Editorial Review
Every correction request does not automatically result in a correction.
PressNews.in may review:
- the original source;
- official records;
- reporter notes;
- documents;
- other credible sources;
- subsequent developments; and
- the evidence supplied by the requester.
Minor Errors
Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or typographical errors may be corrected without a formal correction notice where the meaning of the article is not materially affected.
Material Errors
Material factual errors may be corrected and, where appropriate, accompanied by a correction note.
Significant Corrections
Where an error materially affects the understanding of an article, PressNews.in may explain what was corrected.
Updates
An article may be updated when significant new information becomes available.
An update should not be used simply to make old content appear fresh.
Removal Requests
A request to remove an article is not automatically a request for correction.
Accurate reporting that is lawfully published and has legitimate public-interest value may remain online even when a person or organization requests removal.
Legal Requests
Legitimate legal requests may be reviewed separately from ordinary editorial correction requests.
Right of Reply
Where an article contains a significant allegation about an identifiable person or organization, PressNews.in may publish or incorporate a relevant response where editorially appropriate.
