Introduction to the Event
The Department of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Jammu marked Vishwakarma Day on October 22, 2025, with vibrant celebrations at the Government Agriculture Workshop and Seed Processing Unit in Talab Tillo. The occasion highlighted the importance of agricultural mechanization and paid homage to Bhagwan Vishwakarma, the divine patron of artisans and engineers.
Director’s Address on Agricultural Advancement
Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta, graced the event as the chief guest. In his address to officers and workers, he emphasized the critical role of farm mechanization in boosting productivity and quality for both food and non-food crops.
Promoting Modern Tools for Sustainable Farming
Gupta stressed the adoption of modern tools and equipment to foster sustainable and efficient farming practices, paving the way for the next agricultural revolution in the region.
Special Puja Ceremony
A special Puja ceremony dedicated to Bhagwan Vishwakarma was organized by the Directorate of Agriculture. The rituals included the worship of tools and machinery, along with prayers for the safety and well-being of all operators and workers.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of Prasad among the participants, fostering a sense of community and devotion.
Inspection and Appreciation of Workshop Efforts
Following the ceremony, Director Gupta interacted with the workers and inspected various machines at the workshop and seed processing unit, such as the Sheet Cutting Machine, Sheet Bending Machine, Beading Machine, Power Hammers, Sheet Rolling Machines, and Swaging Machines.
Acknowledging Staff Contributions
He commended the workshop staff for their dedication in maintaining and fabricating essential agricultural implements that support farming activities across the region.
Celebrations at Additional Locations
Simultaneously, Vishwakarma Puja was observed at the Seed Processing Plant, Seed Multiplication Farm Chinore, and Seed Multiplication Farm Chakrohi. Officers and workers participated in the rituals with great devotion.
