Saudi Arabia to Host UN Global Supply Chain Forum in 2026

During the 16th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) held in Geneva, Switzerland, Saleh Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, revealed that the Kingdom will host the second UN Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) in November 2026. The event will be organized in collaboration with the United Nations and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani).

Strengthening Global Trade Leadership

Al-Jasser extended a warm invitation to participating nations, emphasizing that hosting the GSCF highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing international trade and fostering logistical connectivity. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub bridging Asia, Africa, and Europe. The minister encouraged active participation from UN member states to collaboratively shape the future of global trade.

Saudi Arabia’s unique geographic position between three continents positions it as a critical transit point for over 13% of global trade flows. The Kingdom’s ports are among the world’s most efficient, supported by a rapidly expanding port system. Al-Jasser highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s leadership in global supply chains is driven not only by its strategic location but also by significant investments in infrastructure, digital transformation, and green initiatives.

The Kingdom’s advancements in ports, airports, and land crossings, combined with its focus on sustainability, reinforce its role as a reliable partner in global trade. By hosting the GSCF, Saudi Arabia aims to further strengthen international cooperation and drive innovation in supply chain management, contributing to a sustainable and interconnected global economy.
