Government Announces New Registrars of Companies for LLP Administration from January 2026

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued a notification announcing the establishment of new Registrars of Companies for the administration of Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) across various regions in India. This move aims to ensure improved regulatory oversight and easier compliance for LLP entities.

Key Objective of the Notification

The decision has been made under Section 68A of the Limited Liability Partnership Act 2008. The new Registrars will oversee the registration of LLPs and carry out all related statutory functions. These changes will come into effect on **1 January 2026.

New Jurisdiction Structure

The revised structure divides multiple states and districts into newly assigned Registrar Offices. Each Registrar will be responsible for a specific territorial jurisdiction to enhance administrative efficiency.

Registrars and Territorial Jurisdiction

  • Registrar of Companies National Capital Territory Delhi I at South Delhi will cover South Delhi, Southwest Delhi, New Delhi, Southeast Delhi and East Delhi.
  • Registrar of Companies National Capital Territory Delhi II at Central Delhi will oversee Central Delhi, West Delhi, North Delhi, Northwest Delhi, Northeast Delhi and Shahdara.
  • Registrar of Companies Haryana at Chandigarh will manage the entire state of Haryana.
  • Registrar of Companies Uttar Pradesh I at Kanpur will supervise districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi and others listed under the notification.
  • Registrar of Companies Uttar Pradesh II at NOIDA will cover Agra, Meerut, Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad and other listed districts.
  • Registrar of Companies Mumbai I at Mumbai will oversee the districts of Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban.
  • Registrar of Companies Mumbai II at Navi Mumbai will cover districts such as Nashik, Jalgaon, Palghar, Raigad and Thane.
  • Registrar of Companies at Nagpur will manage various districts including Nagpur, Amravati, Bhandara, Wardha, Yavatmal and others in the Vidarbha region.
  • Registrar of Companies Kolkata I at Kolkata will cover the district of Kolkata and the state of Sikkim.
  • Registrar of Companies Kolkata II at Kolkata will cover the remaining districts of the state of West Bengal.

Effective Date

The revised jurisdictional framework will be implemented from 1 January 2026, ensuring a more decentralized and targeted approach in LLP administration.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 68A of the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 (6 of 2009), the Central Government hereby establishes the following Registrars of Companies in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs specified in column (2) of the Table below having territorial jurisdiction as specified in the corresponding column (3) of the Table below for the purpose of registration of Limited Liability Partnerships and discharging the functions under the said Act, namely:-

7. Registrar of Companies, Mumbai-II, at Navi Mumbai. Districts of Aurangabad, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Nashik, Palghar, Raigad and Thane.
8. Registrar of Companies at Nagpur. Districts of Akola, Amravati, Beed, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nagpur, Nanded, Osmanabad, Parbani, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal.
9. Registrar of Companies, Kolkata-I at Kolkata. District of Kolkata and the state of Sikkim.
