The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, is making significant progress in Special Campaign 5.0, a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing cleanliness, reducing administrative backlog, and improving citizen-centric services across postal establishments.

Goals of Special Campaign 5.0

This campaign focuses on institutionalizing cleanliness, streamlining operations, and fostering community engagement. It has garnered enthusiastic participation from postal circles, regional offices, postal divisions, sorting offices, and post offices, including both Head Post Offices and Branch Post Offices.

Mid-Campaign Milestones

By the midpoint of Special Campaign 5.0, the Department of Posts has achieved remarkable results, showcasing its commitment to efficiency and public service.

Swachhata Drives

Over 47,358 out of 1,25,000 postal sites have undergone extensive cleanliness activities, transforming them into cleaner, more organized, and citizen-friendly spaces.

Dak Chaupals: Connecting Communities

Dak Chaupals are citizen-centric initiatives that bring government services directly to communities, enhancing engagement and service delivery. To date, 4,952 Dak Chaupals have been conducted nationwide, including in the North East and Maharashtra Circles.

Streamlined Record Management

The campaign has reviewed 32,249 physical files, with 7,611 files weeded out or closed, significantly improving office efficiency and reducing clutter.

Public Grievance Resolution

The Department has resolved 57,961 pending public grievances and appeals, demonstrating its dedication to responsive and accountable governance.

Optimizing Workspace

Through digitization and the removal of obsolete materials, approximately 13,049 square feet of space has been freed up, enhancing the functionality of postal workspaces.

Revenue from Scrap Disposal

The sale of unserviceable items and scrap materials has generated ₹32,48,216, contributing to resource optimization and sustainability.

Beautification and Community Outreach

Post offices have embraced beautification efforts, adorning their premises with vibrant wall art that promotes cleanliness, postal heritage, and public awareness.
