Sports Department Marks Success in Special Campaign 5.0
The Department of Sports, together with key organisations including the Sports Authority of India and the National Anti-Doping Agency, has brought the Special Campaign 5.0 to an impactful close. Conducted throughout October 2025, the campaign focused on integrating cleanliness and transparency within departmental operations.
The initiative kicked off on October 2 with the Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run 6.0 held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. This event linked the missions of a clean nation and healthy living, reflecting the combined vision of a “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”.
Efficiency in Governance and File Management
Addressing pending cases was a central priority. By the end of the campaign, 15 pending matters raised by Members of Parliament and 4 State Government references were cleared. The department also settled 100 public grievances and delivered on one Parliamentary assurance. Senior officials consistently tracked progress to ensure that every goal was achieved efficiently.
The campaign also focused extensively on record management. Of the 290 physical files that were taken up for review, 55 were disposed of as per procedure. On the digital front, 280 e-files were thoroughly assessed, which marked a significant achievement in strengthening paperless governance.
Cleanliness Drives and Revenue Generation
Field offices and headquarters participated in cleanliness activities at 50 selected sites. This effort reclaimed 3,90,000 square feet of space, making way for more functional use of the premises. In the process, the department also generated revenue of over Rs. 4 crore from scrap disposal, emphasizing both cleanliness and economic resourcefulness.
These efforts were complemented by 55 informative posts on social media platforms. By using #SpecialCampaign5 and #SwachhBharat, the campaign’s scope and awareness were significantly amplified.
With strategic planning, sustainable action, and comprehensive monitoring, the Department of Sports demonstrated a successful model for cleanliness and administrative reforms.
