AI-Focused Summer School Launched for Gulf Students

A new educational collaboration has been unveiled by TRENDS Research and Advisory in partnership with Cambridge AI for high-achieving school students from the Gulf region. The initiative is designed to nurture future leaders in artificial intelligence through a dedicated 10-day summer programme at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Organised by the TRENDS International Training Institute, the programme is aimed at students aged 16 to 18 from the UAE and neighbouring GCC states. Those with a genuine interest in cutting-edge technology, science, and innovation are invited to apply. The aim is to build capabilities that can help shape solutions for both regional development and global progress.

Comprehensive Learning at Cambridge

Scheduled for July and August 2026, the course offers an immersive experience led by top academic staff and industry experts at one of the world’s leading universities. It will include lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive learning sessions, covering key concepts in artificial intelligence and related fields.

Students will also explore real-world AI applications during field trips to research labs and emerging tech firms. Another cornerstone of the course is a focus on AI ethics and responsible innovation, helping participants understand the societal impact of the technology they learn.

Capstone Project to Encourage Innovation

The programme will conclude with students presenting a capstone project, where they propose AI-based solutions to current challenges. This component aims to foster creativity and problem-solving among young learners.

Speaking about the initiative, Sultan Al-Rubaei, Head of the TRENDS International Training Institute, noted that this is a vital effort to bring international academic knowledge to Gulf students. He added that the programme offers a valuable chance for young minds to gain world-class experience in a global learning environment.

With the Gulf region striving to build knowledge-based economies, this collaborative effort between TRENDS and Cambridge AI stands out as a promising investment in the future of AI talent development.
