Sheikh Theyab Meets UAE Leadership Programme Delegation in China
During an engagement in Beijing, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan interacted with participants of the inaugural UAE Second-Tier Leadership Executive Programme. The initiative ran from 21st October to 4th November 2025 under the banner ‘Bridging Nations, Building Leaders’.
This first-of-its-kind programme brought together 30 officials from 24 federal and local departments. It was crafted to broaden perspectives and expand cooperation between the UAE and China across various fields. Emphasis was placed on leadership development through exposure to Chinese practices in governance, technology, economic development, and sustainability.
Building Future-Ready Leaders for Global Engagement
Sheikh Theyab highlighted that the programme reflects the UAE’s commitment to nurturing a skilled, globally informed leadership pipeline. He emphasised that investing in human development is essential to advancing the nation’s aspirations and strengthening its international presence.
He expressed confidence that attendees would go on to champion UAE–China relations, especially in emerging and strategic sectors. He also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the UAE Embassy in Beijing and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), noting their vital roles in facilitating the programme alongside the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Field Exposure to China’s Innovation and Sustainability Ecosystem
As part of the programme, participants observed China’s advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence, education, creative industries, and green growth. They also embarked on site visits to academic and economic hubs in both Beijing and Fujian, offering them valuable opportunities to build connections with Chinese leaders and institutions.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy designed to elevate second-tier leaders and equip them with international insights to drive government performance and reinforce the UAE’s stature on the global stage.
