Haryana Amends Faculty Resignation Rule in DMER Notice

Haryana government updates faculty resignation terms in Medical Education & Research Department notification

The Government of Haryana has issued a partial amendment to an existing notification from the Medical Education & Research Department that changes the terms and conditions for engagement of teaching faculty. The amendment adds a new clause – numbered 11.5 – to Para 11 of the earlier notification.

What the amendment says

The amendment requires any member of the teaching faculty who wishes to resign to either provide one month’s advance notice or deposit one month’s salary in lieu of that notice. The change is introduced as clause 11.5 under the “Terms and Conditions of Engagement” in the relevant notification.

Which documents and authorities are involved

The modification refers to Notification No. 16/07/2024-6HBIV dated 03.07.2024 and is issued by the Medical Education & Research Department of the Government of Haryana. The Department can be viewed on its official portal. The Governor of Haryana is recorded as pleased to make the partial modification and the notification bears the name of the Additional Chief Secretary to Government Haryana.

When it was issued and immediate effect

The amendment is recorded with the date line 14th November, 2025 in the notification heading. The Additional Chief Secretary’s signing line shows the date 08th November, 2025. The change adds a specific, enforceable step for resignation by teaching faculty.

Impact on faculty and institutions

For teaching faculty in institutions under the Medical Education & Research Department, the amendment clarifies the exit conditions. Faculty planning to resign will need to either serve a one-month notice period or pay one month’s salary if they choose to leave immediately. Institutions and employees should follow the amended clause when processing resignations and final settlements.
