President of India Inaugurates 2nd Edition of Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Secunderabad
Festival Open to Public from November 22 to 30
The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the second edition of the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Secunderabad, on November 21, 2025. The nine-day festival is organised by Rashtrapati Nilayam in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Textiles, and the Ministry of Tourism. The event showcases the cultural heritage of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu.
During the inaugural ceremony, the President noted that the first edition of the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav focused on the cultural heritage of Northeast India. She stated that the current edition provides an opportunity to experience the cultural richness of Western India. Visitors will have the chance to explore folk traditions through handicrafts, dance, music, literature, and cuisine from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
The President highlighted that the Government of India is implementing initiatives to connect citizens, particularly the youth, with the country’s cultural heritage. She observed that events like the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav help people from different regions understand each other and broaden perspectives. Such events also promote respect for cultural heritage and encourage its preservation.
The President expressed confidence that a large number of people will attend and experience the festival.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Governor of Telangana Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Governor of Rajasthan Shri Haribhau Bagde, Governor of Goa Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare of the Government of Telangana Smt D Anasuya Seethakka, and Minister of Tribal Development, Khadi, Cottage and Rural Industries of the Government of Gujarat Shri Naresh Maganbhai Patel.
