Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah paid tribute to Ahom General Lachit Barphukan on his Jayanti.

Homage to the Historical Figure

Shri Amit Shah referred to Lachit Barphukan as one of the greatest warriors in the country’s history. He noted that the Ahom general’s unwavering patriotism, notable bravery, and distinctive military leadership protected Assam and the Northeast from the advance of the Mughals and helped preserve the cultural heritage of the region.
