Cairo The Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers convened its 21st session yesterday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary and attended by Arab ministers of information and heads of member-state delegations.

In his opening remarks, the minister of media said the session continued efforts to advance joint Arab media cooperation. He noted that the agenda included several key topics, with the Palestinian cause identified as the primary issue for Arab nations and their populations.

He underlined the need to utilize Arab media capabilities to support the Palestinian cause through all available channels. He urged Arab media organizations to reaffirm the centrality of the issue and express firm backing for the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate national rights. These rights include freedom and the establishment of an independent, sovereign state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also reiterated the importance of supporting the two-state solution and final-status negotiations, along with mobilizing Arab and global public opinion in support of Arab efforts to address the Israeli occupation and promote Arab peace initiatives.

The minister added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken steps to advance the Arab Peace Initiative based on the two-state solution. He explained that this approach has created a new path toward the establishment of the Palestinian state. According to his remarks, these efforts have encouraged several influential countries to recognize the State of Palestine. He also referenced the outcomes of the international two-state solution conference in New York, noting that it helped rally the international community and encouraged a more serious engagement toward a practical alternative to political stagnation and toward supporting the establishment of the Palestinian state.
