GeM to Host Kreta Samvad to Strengthen Digital Public Procurement in Bhopal

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will organise the Government e-Marketplace Kreta Samvad on 28 November 2025 at Minto Hall in Bhopal. The initiative is designed to enhance digital public procurement capabilities across State departments and support buyer organisations in utilising GeM’s ecosystem, features and workflows more effectively.
The event will outline opportunities available to sellers and service providers on the GeM platform, offering streamlined access to buyers ranging from local bodies to national procurement entities. Recent reforms such as the removal of Caution Money and the reduction of Vendor Assessment fees are helping increase participation from Micro and Small Enterprises, women entrepreneurs, startups, artisans and SC/ST enterprises, making the procurement environment more accessible and transparent. These steps are aimed at supporting predictable business operations, faster onboarding and improved market visibility while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat and reinforcing the approach of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
CEO, GeM, Shri Mihir Kumar stated ahead of the programme that the event would enable buyer organisations to learn about new features, seek clarification on operational processes and share feedback, which would help Madhya Pradesh establish new standards in transparent and efficient public procurement.
Madhya Pradesh has procured goods and services valued at more than ₹12,600 crore through GeM, including ₹7,100 crore from Micro and Small Enterprises. These figures reflect the State’s emphasis on inclusive procurement. GeM has supported faster procurement cycles, increased competition, nationwide market access and full traceability of procurement decisions.
GeM continues to assist Madhya Pradesh in strengthening digital governance, compliance readiness and inclusive procurement practices.
