
New Delhi, India: The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution successfully concluded Special Campaign 5.0, a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing cleanliness, efficiency, and timely grievance redressal across government offices. The campaign emphasized responsible record management, file clearance, and e-waste disposal through systematic planning and digital monitoring.
Focused Implementation under National Cleanliness Vision
Key Achievements by Department of Food and Public Distribution
The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), along with its PSUs and subordinate offices, executed a series of cleanliness and efficiency measures during the campaign. All pending matters were addressed within the set timeframe, including:
- State Government References: 07
- MP References: 11
- Public Grievances: 937
- Public Grievance Appeals: 15
- Physical Files Weeded: 1,23,853
- E-files Closed: 5,592
Additionally, 2,503 cleanliness drives were conducted, freeing up 49,830 sq. ft. of office space. Revenue of ₹1,40,96,339 was generated through the responsible disposal of obsolete materials and e-waste.
Department of Consumer Affairs Promotes Efficiency and Transparency
The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA), along with its attached offices such as BIS, NTH, NCCF, NCDRC, RRSLs, and IILM Ranchi, also actively participated in the campaign. The department focused on clearing pending files and complaints, improving service delivery, and maintaining cleanliness. Regular updates were provided by nodal officers to ensure accountability and transparency throughout the campaign period.
Highlights of Achievements
- Cleanliness and Space Management: 182 drives conducted, freeing about 3,000 sq. ft. of space.
- Scrap and E-waste Disposal: Around ₹13 lakh generated from responsible waste disposal.
- Record Management: 60,000 physical files reviewed, 2,400 weeded out, 10,000 e-files reviewed, and 1,681 closed.
- Grievance Redressal: 50,037 public grievances and 586 appeals successfully resolved.
- PMO and MP References: Two PMO and four MP references cleared during the campaign.
