Niveshak Shivir Amritsar

The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority, functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, along with the Securities and Exchange Board of India, organised a dedicated Niveshak Shivir in Amritsar on 1 November 2025. The one-day programme brought together investors from the region and offered them a streamlined platform to address concerns related to unclaimed dividends, old share claims, and other investor services.

Single-Window Support for Long-Pending Claims

Participants received guidance and resolution support through a single-window system designed to simplify access to financial record updates. Investors were able to complete nomination and KYC corrections on-site and seek assistance for claims that had been pending for several years. Representatives from stakeholder companies and Registrar and Transfer Agents were present to provide direct facilitation, avoiding the need for intermediaries.

Investor Facilitation

Large Investor Participation

More than 223 investors and claimants from Amritsar and adjoining districts attended the camp. Senior officials including Smt. Anita Shah Akella, CEO IEPFA and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Lt. Col. Aditya Sinha, General Manager IEPFA, and Shri Binod Sharma, General Manager SEBI, interacted with participants and reviewed facilitation processes.

Awareness on Claiming Unpaid Dividends

A new explainer video titled “Understanding the Process of Claiming Unpaid Dividends through IEPFA” was introduced during the programme. The video aims to help citizens understand what leads to dividends remaining unclaimed, how to verify eligibility and navigate the claim submission procedure with clarity.

Investor Awareness Video Launch

Part of a Nationwide Effort

The Amritsar camp follows earlier editions conducted in Pune and Hyderabad, marking its expansion into regions with notable volumes of unclaimed investor assets. The initiative focuses on making financial services more accessible, improving transparency, and ensuring that investors understand their rights and responsibilities.

Looking Forward

IEPFA continues to prioritize investor education and redressal mechanisms as part of its wider mission to fortify trust in the financial ecosystem. More such outreach programmes are expected to be held in cities across India.
