Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is set to co-chair the third India–Indonesia Defence Ministers’ Dialogue with the Minister of Defense of Indonesia, Mr Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, in New Delhi on November 27, 2025. The meeting will provide a platform for both Ministers to exchange views on regional security and multilateral issues and to explore opportunities for further strengthening bilateral defence collaboration.

The two-day visit of the Indonesian Defence Minister, from November 26 to 27, 2025, highlights the increasing momentum in India–Indonesia defence cooperation. It also reflects the mutual commitment to deepen and expand the strategic partnership, following the visit of the President of Indonesia in January this year.

India and Indonesia share civilisational ties that span several millennia. As maritime neighbours, the countries have longstanding cultural, civilisational, and historical connections.

In recent years, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia has been marked by enhanced cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral forums. Frequent high-level interactions and the support of India’s Act East policy have further reinforced this partnership.
