The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has fully met every goal set during the month-long cleanliness and efficiency drive that ran through October 2025. Offices from headquarters to regional units joined hands to clear backlogs and spruce up workspaces across the country.
Nationwide Clean-Up and Efficiency Push
Teams carried out hygiene activities at 1,984 locations, covering central hospitals, attached offices, autonomous institutes, and public sector units. Senior officials, including both Union Health Ministers and the Health Secretary, kept a close watch on daily progress.
Besides sweeping and scrubbing, staff tackled pending citizen complaints and parliamentary queries. They settled 5,169 public grievances along with 426 related appeals. Another 85 references raised by Members of Parliament were also addressed promptly.
File Clearance and Space Recovery
A massive review of records saw 52,070 physical files examined, leading to the removal of 31,621 outdated ones. On the digital front, 9,035 e-files went through scrutiny, resulting in 2,850 closures. These efforts unlocked 40,257 square feet of usable office area.
Revenue from Waste and Process Reforms
Old furniture, equipment, and electronic junk were sold off, bringing in ₹41.37 lakh for the department. At the same time, eleven administrative rules or procedures were streamlined to cut red tape.
Several centres turned scrap into useful items. One regional medical institute in Imphal built a model helicopter from discarded beds and cupboards. Hospitals in Guwahati and Rajkot ran dedicated e-waste collection drives and showcased creative reuse ideas.

Every day’s achievements were logged on the official campaign portal run by the administrative reforms department. Photographs, short videos, and success stories were shared regularly to highlight the ground-level impact.
By fulfilling all assigned objectives, the health ministry has strengthened its focus on tidy workplaces, faster public services, and sustainable practices in government operations.
