Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, Maximus Air to Enhance Aerial Capabilities for Rescue Operations
ABU DHABI The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and Maximus Air have entered a cooperation agreement to strengthen the aerial transport system for search and rescue operations during disasters and emergencies.
The agreement was signed at the Dubai Airshow 2025, which concluded on Friday.
This initiative is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to advance the emergency response system and improve the readiness of the UAE Search and Rescue Team. The partnership aims to provide the team with the necessary aerial capabilities for both international and field missions, including the transportation of specialised teams and equipment, support for medical evacuation operations, and logistical assistance required for efficient emergency response.
The signing ceremony was attended by leaders and experts in aviation and relief operations. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Authority by Brigadier Muzafar Mohammed Al Ameri, Acting Director of the Rescue and Firefighting Sector and Commander of the UAE Search and Rescue Team, and on behalf of Maximus Air by Samer Ramadan, Chief Executive Officer. Also present were Nader Al Hammadi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, and Mahmoud Al Hay Al Hameli, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group.
The authority stated that the partnership with Maximus Air represents a strategic step in expanding collaboration with the private sector and utilising the company’s operational capabilities and aviation expertise. It is intended to enhance flexibility and rapid response during crises and disasters, and strengthen the team’s capacity to carry out humanitarian and relief missions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Maximus Air will provide specialised air transport services for the UAE Search and Rescue Team, including the movement of personnel, equipment, and vehicles to affected areas, execution of medical evacuation operations, and delivery of humanitarian aid. These services will leverage the company’s 24/7 operational centre and its fleet capable of carrying up to 120 tonnes of cargo.
These capabilities are expected to allow the team to respond promptly and effectively to humanitarian and relief missions, and reinforce the UAE’s engagement in international humanitarian efforts.
