Abu Dhabi, November 10, 2025: H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the 2025 meeting of the Digital Wellbeing Council, held at the National Media Office in Abu Dhabi.

The Council reviewed both ongoing and completed projects designed to enhance digital wellbeing within Emirati society. The discussions centered on advancing the national strategy for a safer, more responsible, and value-driven digital environment. Members examined approaches to promote ethical and mindful digital technology use, strengthen collaboration among national entities, safeguard the community from online risks, and encourage positive engagement on digital platforms.

Focus on Digital Safety and Responsible Online Behavior

During the meeting, the Council received detailed briefings on several national initiatives supporting user protection. Among them was the Age Rating System for Electronic Games and Films, which ensures protection from inappropriate content. The members also discussed the implementation progress of the Digital Wellbeing Charter, developed in collaboration with major global platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat.

The Charter includes programs aimed at improving digital safety for children and young users, emphasizing responsible interaction with online media. Additionally, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) presented its monitoring initiatives targeting websites and accounts that breach societal values, as part of the UAE’s comprehensive online safety framework.

These efforts align with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to strengthen family and community protection, while nurturing a culture of conscious, ethical, and high-quality digital engagement. The Digital Wellbeing Council reaffirmed its mission to build a sustainable ecosystem that balances technological innovation with user security and wellbeing.
