The dialysis centre was developed under the leadership of Marlborough Primary Health, working together with Health New Zealand. It starts operations with four dialysis chairs, functioning three days a week, with room to grow based on demand.
The unit provides care to clinically stable patients, and it integrates other crucial services like podiatry and social work into its framework. This approach ensures patients receive holistic care without having to travel long distances, which often adds emotional and financial stress for families.
