Celebrating Diversity Through Global Harmony 2

The spirit of multicultural unity comes alive in Riyadh as “Global Harmony 2” begins its cultural journey, spotlighting the vibrant lives and traditions of expatriates in Saudi Arabia. The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Media in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), forms part of the Quality of Life Program aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

Indian Culture Week Leads the Series

The celebrations kick off with Indian Culture Week at Al Suwaidi Park, presenting a colourful blend of art, music, food, and heritage. The event offers visitors a meaningful glimpse into India’s diverse cultural fabric through traditional performances, artisanal crafts, culinary stalls, and family-friendly zones. More than 100 artists and creators are taking part, offering an immersive cultural experience.

Building Cultural Bridges

Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, praised the initiative as an important platform for strengthening cultural ties. He noted that the overwhelming response during last year’s event inspired greater enthusiasm and participation this year from artists and audiences alike.

Upcoming Cultural Weeks Ahead

Following the Indian showcase, Global Harmony 2 will host cultural weeks featuring communities from the Philippines, Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Bangladesh, Palestine, Ethiopia, Uganda, Yemen, and more. Each week will celebrate the traditional arts, music, food, and social customs of a different resident group.

Strengthening Community and Inclusivity

The initiative reinforces Saudi Arabia’s goal to enhance cultural diversity and inclusiveness within its society. By creating spaces where expatriate communities can share their heritage, the event contributes to the Kingdom’s positioning as a global centre for culture, tolerance, and social connection.
