Shared Vision for Peace and Progress in Europe

Despite the extraordinary challenges Ukraine continues to face, the country has demonstrated exceptional creativity and resilience. Sweden recognises Ukraine’s determination and its growing influence within the global innovation landscape. Both countries share the broader goal of promoting peace and driving sustainable development across Europe.

Minister Ebba Busch Highlights Ukraine’s Resilience

Swedish Minister for Energy and Business, Ebba Busch, emphasised that Ukraine’s innovation journey is not only about recovery but about redefining what is achievable under pressure. She stated that Sweden, being one of the world’s leading innovation nations, values the opportunity to support and collaborate with Ukraine in its transformation.

Building on International Cooperation

The agreement follows the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome in July 2025, where an international coalition for science, research, and innovation was launched. Sweden was among the founding members of this coalition, underscoring its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s scientific and technological advancement.

Next Step Toward Bilateral Partnership

Through the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, Sweden has now formalised its intention to work more closely with Ukraine in areas related to innovation and digitalisation. The newly signed Letter of Intent represents the government’s ambition to enhance collaboration among Swedish companies, government agencies, and Ukrainian partners.

This initiative serves as a foundation for what both nations envision as a long-term bilateral innovation partnership. It highlights a mutual understanding that innovation and technology are vital tools for recovery, growth, and the rebuilding of modern Europe.
