Assam Schools to Observe Bagless Days for Classes 6 to 8

Samagra Shiksha Assam has directed all district mission coordinators, school inspectors, and district elementary education officers to implement 10 bagless days annually for students of Classes 6 to 8 in the 2026-27 academic session. The directive outlines that students will participate in activities outside regular classroom learning during these days. Suggested activities include interaction with trees and nature, sessions with experts, handicrafts, cottage industries, visits to tea industries, cultural and artistic programmes, and exposure visits related to dairy, fisheries, animal husbandry, and horticulture. The initiative aims to provide experiential learning opportunities for students.
