Monsoon Active in Northern Bihar; Heavy Rain Alert Issued

Due to monsoon activity, rainfall continues in the northern parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm and rain alert for several districts including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Begusarai, and Khagaria in the north-western and north-central parts of the state. Lightning is also likely at many places.
Meanwhile, severe heat continues in the south-western parts of the state. The Met Department said that heatwave conditions will persist in several places in southern districts including Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, and Nalanda. A rise of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature is expected in these areas over the next 48 hours.
In the past 24 hours, Kaimur’s Bhabhua remained the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius.
