In the last financial year, 12,729 children below five years died in the state. In the past three years, 40,559 children have died due to causes including low birth weight, infections, pneumonia, and others.The government is implementing various schemes to reduce this number. Meanwhile, the number of malnourished children in the state has been declining over the last three years.
